His Lady Friend

This week's poem is taken from Ringgold Wilmer "Ring" Lardner's Bib Ballads book of poetry about his child. In his Forward he says

Dear Parents:—Don't imagine, please,
It's in a boastful spirit
I fashion verses such as these;...
...But babes are babes, and mine, no doubt,
Is very much like others.
